The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms with defenseman Tucker Poolman on a one-year entry-level contract with an annual value of $1,775,000.
Poolman recorded seven goals and 23 assists in 38 games as a junior with the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks this season, and was also named the National College Hockey Conference defensive defenseman of the year.
Drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Draft, Poolman is set to undergo bilateral shoulder surgery, and may or may not be recovered in time for Jets training camp in September.
