Hope is on the way for the Vancouver Canucks, as prospect Adam Gaudette has been named Hockey East's player of the year.
The 21-year-old has spent the past three seasons at Northeastern, where this year he scored a team-leading 59 points in 36 games.
On Wednesday, Gaudette was named one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, which honors the NCAA's top hockey player.
Vancouver drafted Gaudette with the 149th pick in 2015.
The Massachusetts native has yet to sign an entry-level contract.
