Tuch scores 2 as Boston College knocks out Harvard
Sophomore forward Alex Tuch scored two goals and junior goalie Thatcher Demko made 32 saves as the Boston College Eagles knocked out crosstown rival Harvard with a 4-1 win in the Northeast Regional on Friday.
Tuch, a first-round selection of the Minnesota Wild in 2014, extended his personal point streak to four games, and has found the scoresheet in eight of his last nine.
Austin Cangelosi also scored a pair for Boston College, adding a late empty-netter to seal the victory.
Demko impressed in the Eagles' net after entering Friday with 11 goals against in his last three games. The Vancouver Canucks prospect was named one of Hockey East's Co-Players of the Year earlier in March.
Meanwhile, the end of Harvard's season also brings an end to the college career of highly-touted prospect Jimmy Vesey. Drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2012, he has already been promised a spot in the lineup by general manager David Poile, but the forward could hold out and become a free agent in August.
Boston College will take on Minnesota-Duluth in the Northeast Regional Finals on Saturday.
