Stradivari overtakes Nyquist as Preakness favorite after $80K bet

Forget everything you knew about the odds at this year's Preakness Stakes.

Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist went into Saturday at the Pimlico Race Course at pretty convincing 3-5 odds, with Exaggerator, the Derby's runner-up, billed at 3-1. But in the afternoon, someone threw a whopping $80,000 on 8-1 long shot Stradivari and changed everything:

Due to the huge wager, Stradivari now currently holds the best odds at 3-5 while Nyquist, who won the Kentucky Derby just two weeks ago, drops to 5-2.
