Here are theScore's pitcher value rankings for Friday, May 6 (all stats exclude Thursday's games):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Noah Syndergaard (NYM) at SD 10
Taijuan Walker (SEA) at HOU 9
Rick Porcello (BOS) at NYY 9
Vincent Velasquez (PHI) at MIA 8
Zack Greinke (ARI) at ATL 8
Wei-Yin Chen (MIA) vs. PHI 8
Rich Hill (OAK) at BAL 8

Walker has struck out 29 batters in 30 innings while allowing just six earned runs. He'll take on the Astros, who lead the majors with 9.71 strikeouts per games. That means that Walker won't need to pitch deep into the game to rack up major fantasy production; he only needs to keep doing what has worked so far this season and outlast Doug Fister for the win.

The Phillies rank dead last in team batting average, hitting .176. Chen doesn't have major strikeout potential and struggles to keep crooked numbers off the scoreboard, but there's some contrarian value in taking the lefty at home at cavernous Marlins Park.

Hill has averaged 7.6 strikeouts in his last five starts and is very cheap. Use him as a cheap SP2 or as a tournament starter in one-pitcher formats.

Mid-Tier Targets

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Madison Bumgarner (SF) vs. COL 7
Max Scherzer (WAS) at CHC 7
Jordan Zimmermann (DET) vs. TEX 7
Chris Archer (TB) at LAA 6
Mat Latos (CWS) vs. MIN 6
Danny Salazar (CLE) vs. KC 6
Kenta Maeda (LAD) at TOR 6
Francisco Liriano (PIT) at STL 5
John Lackey (CHC) vs. WAS 5
Yordano Ventura (KC) at CLE 5
Marcus Stroman (TOR) vs. LAD 5
Tim Adelman (CIN) vs. MIL 5
Cole Hamels (TEX) at DET 4
Carlos Martinez (STL) vs. PIT 4
Drew Pomeranz (SD) vs. NYM 4

Bumgarner has posted a 3.03 ERA and 1.37 WHIP that are entirely mediocre by his high standard. Adding to the case against him, MadBum will take on the Rockies, who lead the majors in team batting average against left-handed pitchers (.291). He could still have an ace performance, but he's not quite a sure thing.

Martinez has compiled a 4-1 record by virtue of his excellent pitching and solid run support from the Cardinals' bats. The biggest knock against him is that while he has pitched to a 2.96 ERA on the road in his career, his ERA at Busch Stadium jumps to 3.85, a trend which has carried over to 2016. He could still net a victory, but the Pirates will be a big test.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Ricky Nolasco (MIN) at CWS 3
Ubaldo Jimenez (BAL) vs. OAK 3
Doug Fister (HOU) vs. SEA 3
Chad Bettis (COL) at SF 2
Michael Pineda (NYY) vs. BOS 2
Aaron Blair (ATL) vs. ARI 2
Tyler Cravy (MIL) at CIN 1

Pineda's 6.33 ERA is almost double the number of runs the Yankees have scored per game this season - 3.56. Even if Pineda shows continued improvement off of his last start (two earned runs over five innings), it's unlikely that he receives enough run support to net a victory.
