Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Hunter Pence (SF) vs. COL 10
Nomar Mazara (TEX) at DET 10
Odubel Herrera (PHI) at MIA 10
Brandon Drury (ARI) at ATL 10
J.D. Martinez (DET) vs. TEX 9
Ian Desmond (TEX) at DET 9
Stephen Piscotty (STL) vs. PIT 9
Matt Holliday (STL) vs. PIT 9
Juan Lagares (NYM) at SD 9
Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) at SD 8
Nelson Cruz (SEA) at HOU 8
Ryan Braun (MIL) at CIN 8
Mike Trout (LAA) vs. TB 8
Marcell Ozuna (MIA) vs. PHI 8
Kevin Pillar (TOR) vs. LAD 8
Joc Pederson (LAD) at TOR 8

Among the most expensive tier of outfielders, Pence is on the cheaper side. This is in spite of a .444 OBP and seven extra-base hits in his last 10 games, as well as a weak matchup with Rockies SP Chad Bettis. Pence's salary represents too much value to pass up in cash games.

On the cheaper end, the pricing for Mazara and Herrera has not caught up with either of their fantasy production to date. Mazara has arguably been the Rangers best hitter while Herrera leads the majors in walk-rate for baseball's hottest team. Both can either be used as salary ballast in cash games or as tournament fliers.

Mid-Tier Targets

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) at STL 7
Starling Marte (PIT) at STL 7
Gregory Polanco (PIT) at STL 7
Justin Upton (DET) vs. TEX 7
Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) vs. PHI 7
Bryce Harper (WAS) at CHC 7
Jacoby Ellsbury (NYY) vs. BOS 7
Jeremy Hazelbaker (STL) vs. PIT 7
Kole Calhoun (LAA) vs. TB 7
David Peralta (ARI) at ATL 7
Yasiel Puig (LAD) at TOR 7
Kevin Kiermaier (TB) at LAA 7
Ryan Raburn (COL) at SF 7
Gerardo Parra (COL) at SF 6
Mookie Betts (BOS) at NYY 6
Yasmany Tomas (ARI) at ATL 6
Kris Bryant (CHC) vs. WAS 6
Rafael Ortega (LAA) vs. TB 6
Mallex Smith (ATL) vs. ARI 6
Rajai Davis (CLE) vs. KC 6
Joey Rickard (BAL) vs. OAK 6

The Pirates will take on their NL Central rivals in St. Louis with breakout starter Carlos Martinez toeing the rubber for the Red Birds. Each of Pittsburgh's outfielders have positive career numbers against right-handed pitching but the real kicker here is that Martinez has a pedestrian 3.85 ERA at home for his career. A stack against Martinez could yield contrarian value in tournaments.

Upton and Harper continue to work their way out of slumps but their high price tags and recent production might scare some suitors away. Restrict their use to tournament play as they haven't quite been consistent enough for cash games of late.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Lorenzo Cain (KC) at CLE 5
Randal Grichuk (STL) vs. PIT 5
Christian Yelich (MIA) vs. PHI 5
George Springer (HOU) vs. SEA 5
Khris Davis (OAK) at BAL 5
Michael Saunders (TOR) vs. LAD 5

Denard Span (SF) vs. COL 4
Charlie Blackmon (COL) at SF 4
Josh Reddick (OAK) at BAL 4

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Jose Bautista (TOR) vs. LAD 3
Colby Rasmus (HOU) vs. SEA 3
Michael Brantley (CLE) vs. KC 3
Adam Eaton (CWS) vs. MIN 3
Miguel Sano (MIN) at CWS 3
Melvin Upton Jr. (SD) vs. NYM 3
Norichika Aoki (SEA) at HOU 2
Dexter Fowler (CHC) vs. WAS 2
Carlos Gonzalez (COL) at SF 2
Michael Conforto (NYM) at SD 2
Mark Trumbo (BAL) vs. OAK 2
Corey Dickerson (TB) at LAA 1
Curtis Granderson (NYM) at SD 1
Billy Burns (OAK) at BAL 1

Bautista is hitting jut .222 on the season and .171 over his last 10 games. He still walks a lot, but he needs to start driving in more runs to warrant his high price tag. He'll take on Dodgers' import sensation Kenta Maeda, who has looked like an early candidate for NL Rookie of the Year through five starts.

There are some formats where Burns is being priced in the same stratosphere as Harper and Trout, which is as perplexing as it is derogatory towards the skills of Orioles SP Ubaldo Jimenez. Burns will struggle to return value at this price point.
