Looking to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2000, Sheffield Wednesday drew first blood in Friday's first leg of its tie against Brighton & Hove Albion in the semi-finals of the Championship play-offs.
High on self-belief, Wednesday opened the scoring just before the interval when Ross Wallace used his left foot to unleash a 25-yard shot through traffic and past the outstretched fingertips of David Stockdale.
3 - Three of Ross Wallace's last four Sheffield Wednesday goals have come from outside the box. Stunners.

Wallace's goal came after Wednesday's Fernando Forestieri appeared to have put the Owls in front, but, to the amazement and anger of those in attendance at Hillsborough Stadium, had his goal disallowed. The referee concluded that the forward was in an offside position following consultation with the linesman.
