Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Chris Sale (CWS) | vs. CLE | 9 |
Jeff Samardzija (SF) | vs. SD | 8 |
Sale and Samardzija come with hefty salaries, but have been dominant as ever to start the season, with Sale carrying a magnificent 0.72 WHIP and a 9-0 record, while Samardzija offers ace potential and has punched out 29 batters in his last four starts. Pay up for one of them in cash games.

Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Josh Tomlin (CLE) | at CWS | 7 |
Stephen Strasburg (WAS) | vs. NYM | 7 |
Jason Hammel (CHC) | at STL | 7 |
Justin Verlander (DET) | vs. PHI | 7 |
Chris Tillman (BAL) | at HOU | 7 |
David Price (BOS) | vs. COL | 7 |
With a 6-0 record, you would think Tomlin's daily fantasy salary would be among the elites. But, It isn't. He has just 30 punch outs on the season, while lasting more than five innings in each of his starts. Each time he has toed the rubber, Tomlin has efficiently returned value.
Tilllman took the bump last Wednesday and only managed to strike out six, although he did end the game with a 1.11 WHIP, surrendering just two runs on four hits. He's lasted more than six innings five times already this season and sports an inspiring 6-1 record.

NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Matt Harvey (NYM) | at WAS | 6 |
Michael Wacha (STL) | vs. CHC | 6 |
Tom Koehler (MIA) | vs. TB | 6 |
Jimmy Nelson (MIL) | at ATL | 6 |
Nathan Karns (SEA) | vs. OAK | 6 |
Julio Teheran (ATL) | vs. MIL | 6 |
Jake Odorizzi (TB) | at MIA | 6 |
Harvey hasn't looked as dominant as he did last season, allowing an alarming 11 earned runs over his last seven innings. His velocity isn't where it used to be, but if his stuff is on, he's one of the top pitchers on this slate. With a low salary and high-floor, he's worth a flier.
Teheran has been unlucky to start the season, as he's thrown four straight gems, but has only come away with one win. He allowed four earned runs in that same span and returned his adequate cost with ease.

NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Edinson Volquez (KC) | at MIN | 5 |
Ervin Santana (MIN) | vs. KC | 5 |
Francisco Liriano (PIT) | vs. ARI | 5 |
Martin Perez (TEX) | vs. LAA | 5 |
Jeremy Hellickson (PHI) | at DET | 5 |
Nathan Eovaldi (NYY) | vs. TOR | 5 |
Liriano has the tendency to get knocked around against deep offensive teams, so a matchup against the potent Diamondbacks offense is likely to result in a low-ownership percentage. His abysmal 4.63 ERA isn't anything to brag about, though he did toss seven strong innings his last outing and ended up with the loss.
