Watch: Owens' son reacts to dad becoming WWE Universal Champion
When Kevin Owens made the move to WWE in August 2014, he elected to change his in-ring moniker from Kevin Steen - his real name, which he used on the independent scene - to its current iteration as a tribute to his 8-year-old son, Owen.
On Monday night's edition of "Raw," Kevin gave his son the best gift in the world when he became WWE's Universal Champion after defeating Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Big Cass in a Fatal 4-way Elimination match, albeit with Triple H's assistance.
Owen caught the action from home while his mother, Karina, filmed his reaction. "I'm just speechless right now," he said.
Owens is the second man in history to hold the belt. The first, Finn Balor, was forced to vacate his title the night after SummerSlam when he was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his right shoulder, which will keep him on the shelf for four-to-six months.
