Here are the key notes for Thursday, September 8:

Newly-resigned Forsett still Baltimore's starting RB

After being cut and then quickly re-signed over the span of a few days, Ravens RB Justin Forsett confirmed to ESPN's Jamison Hensley he'll "be lining up there as the starter as of now." Forsett's brief release was a technical move to free up a roster spot and not performance-related, so the veteran's role on the team remains secure.

Fantasy Impact: Baltimore still has a three-headed RB committee between Forsett, Terrance West and Javorius Allen, though Forsett's pass-catching ability (75 receptions in 26 games as a Raven) give him the most upside, even if he may not receive goal-line touches. Forsett's a fairly low-end starting RB who should probably be left on the bench this week, if possible.

Week 1 a "preseason" game for Rawls

ESPN's Sheil Kapadia tweeted Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll intends to treat the team's Week 1 matchup with the Miami Dolphins as a preseason game of sorts for RB Thomas Rawls. While Rawls is healthy enough to play, he almost certainly won't see a full workload as he comes back from an ankle injury that prematurely ended his rookie season.

Fantasy Impact: For season-long fantasy leagues, Rawls should be kept on the bench where possible. He may vulture a short-yardage score, but chances are he'll be a disappointment with limited work. Rawls should be avoided in daily fantasy as well, where backup Christine Michael makes for a more cost-effective replacement, especially if the Seahawks end up running down the clock.

Sproles could see Woodhead-esque red zone role

ESPN NFL Insiders Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen, in their Week 1 Notebook, expect Eagles RB Darren Sproles to be used in a similar manner as San Diego's Danny Woodhead. New Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich frequently deployed the 5-foot-8 Woodhead in the red zone, and all of his nine total TDs last season were scored from inside 20 yards.

Fantasy Impact: The 5-foot-6 Sproles is a pass-catching back similar to Woodhead, and he's garnered some fantasy hype entering the season, especially in PPR formats. He only had four total TDs in 2015, but should he see increased usage as a goal-line option, his stock will go up in standard leagues. The Eagles' Carson Wentz-led offense won't likely be as strong as Woodhead's Philip Rivers-led unit, however.
