Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP
Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Yuli Gurriel (HOU) | at SEA | 9 |
Kyle Seager (SEA) | vs. HOU | 9 |
Nolan Arenado (COL) | vs. SD | 8 |
Gurriel continues to be priced on some DFS sites like a utility defensive specialist. Felix Hernandez appears to be on the decline but the King isn't ready to abdicate the throne quite yet. For that reason, Gurriel's usage should trend more towards usage GPP, though he can be deployed in any contest without too much of an investment at his current cap hit.
The splits favor veterans Seager and Arenado. The former takes on middling righty Collin McHugh while Arenado enjoys a serious home-park advantage at baseball's premier hitter's park.

Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Matt Carpenter (STL) | at SF | 7 |
Martin Prado (MIA) | at PHI | 7 |
Alex Bregman (HOU) | at SEA | 5 |
Though Carpenter bats left, he still has a high on-base approach, posting .266/.373/.438 splits against LHPs this season. And while he's still in the Cardinals' plans for the foreseeable future, he may consider a move to the the Bay Area in free agency some day; in 10 career games at the Giants' home stadium, Carpenter has hit .487 with a gaudy 1.248 OPS.
Bregman has warranted his blue-chip reputation. In his last 10 games, the rookie has two HRs, two triples, three doubles and a steal. The only aspect of his fantasy profile which caps his potential is his relatively low walk-rate; considering he's only hitting .260 in 2016, he's not quite safe enough to be used in cash games.

Nothing to See Here
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Chase Headley (NYY) | at BOS | 4 |
Yoan Moncada (BOS) | vs. NYY | 2 |
Evan Longoria (TB) | at BAL | 1 |
Longoria is hitting just .176 over his last 18 games with zero walks. He does have two home runs and two doubles in that span but even as a boom-or-bust tournament play, there are clearly better options -- often at significantly cheaper prices.
