Here are the key news and notes for Monday, September 19:

Rashad Jennings likely to appear on injury report

James Kratch of NJ.com reports New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings had his left wrist and thumb heavily wrapped following Sunday's victory. There was no injury announced during the game, but Jennings' final carry came with 6:58 left on the clock. He had already given way to RB Shane Vereen for additional carries.

Fantasy Impact: The situation is worth keeping a close eye on. The Giants' backfield has a favorable matchup in Week 3, against the Washington Redskins. Should Jennings be forced to sit, a tandem of Vereen and Orleans Darkwa will make up the work. Jennings must be stashed unless a significant injury is revealed. This isn't believed to be the case.

Raiders sticking with backfield rotation

Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said Monday the team will continue with a backfield rotation, per Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle. RB Latavius Murray had gained 57 yards and scored a touchdown on eight carries while adding 44 yards on six receptions, but then Del Rio called on rookie Jalen Richard for a pivotal 4th-and-2 play. Richard was stopped short.

Fantasy Impact: Murray and Richard form a trio with RB DeAndre Washington. Murray is the only one with standalone value worth owning. The other two will rely on big plays for fantasy value, barring an injury to Murray. With capped playing time and upside, Murray can be viewed as no more than an RB2.

Discrepancy surrounding Garoppolo's timetable

Michael Giardi of CSNNE.com reports a source close to New England Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo says a four-week timetable for his shoulder injury to heal is "reasonable and fair." Other reports claim Garoppolo has a good chance of returning for Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills. Little is known beyond his likely absence Thursday of Week 3.

Fantasy Impact: The Patriots are almost certain to add a veteran quarterback at some point this week, but they may be content to roll with rookie Jacoby Brissett Thursday, against the Houston Texans. The entire offense takes a hit with Brissett at the helm, even TE Rob Gronkowski who may be ready to return from an injury of his own.

Donte Moncrief going for MRI

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief will undergo an MRI on his shoulder Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Moncrief caught just one of three targets for nine yards in a loss to the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Impact: The injury isn't considered to be overly serious and Moncrief will need to be stashed during any missed time. WRs T.Y. Hilton and Phillip Dorsett will each receive boosts in both season-long and DFS formats should the Colts' No. 2 option miss games. Owners should check for Dorsett on their waiver wires.
