Here's a team-by-team look at the most targeted players last year in the NFC (click here for AFC targets):
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Larry Fitzgerald | 11 | 22 | 10.5 |
Michael Floyd | 6 | 13 | 6.5 |
David Johnson | 5 | 11 | 5.5 |
John Brown | 3 | 7 | 3.5 |
Jermaine Gresham | 1 | 5 | 2.5 |
Fitzgerald has been the steady veteran in Arizona's passing game, picking up 81 yards and at least a score in Weeks 1 and 2. Brown, on the other hand, has been the odd man out, racking up just two catches for 22 yards. Fantasy players will want to tread carefully after Fitz.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jacob Tamme | 8 | 16 | 8 |
Julio Jones | 5 | 13 | 6.5 |
Mohamed Sanu | 5 | 13 | 6.5 |
Tevin Coleman | 2 | 8 | 4 |
Devonta Freeman | 0 | 4 | 2 |
Jones has been visibly hampered by calf and ankle injuries. but has still picked up 172 yards and two scores. Double-digit targets could be on the horizon with a Week 3 matchup against New Orleans. Tamme looks to be a savvy TE pickup for those in need.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Kelvin Benjamin | 9 | 21 | 10.5 |
Greg Olsen | 8 | 17 | 8.5 |
Corey Brown | 6 | 8 | 4 |
Devin Funchess | 4 | 8 | 4 |
Ted Ginn Jr. | 4 | 5 | 2.5 |
The Carolina passing game is looking a lot like 2014; more often than not, it's either going to be Olsen or Benjamin on the receiving end of a Cam Newton pass. Brown, Funchess, and Ginn are simple deep threats at this point.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Kevin White | 6 | 13 | 6.5 |
Alshon Jeffery | 7 | 13 | 6.5 |
Eddie Royal | 6 | 12 | 6 |
Zach Miller | 5 | 9 | 4.5 |
Jeremy Langford | 2 | 6 | 3 |
Jeffery is the only stable option in Chicago. Though White has seen 13 targets, he has only reeled in seven and is yet to top 40 receiving yards in a contest. He should develop as the year goes on, but fantasy players should look elsewhere for immediate returns.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Cole Beasley | 6 | 18 | 9 |
Jason Witten | 4 | 18 | 9 |
Dez Bryant | 12 | 17 | 8.5 |
Ezekiel Elliot | 2 | 4 | 2 |
Terrance Williams | 0 | 4 | 2 |
Bryant was much more involved in Week 2 after seeing just five targets in the season opener. Expect that trend to continue as he and Dak Prescott continue to mesh. Beasley and Witten remain strong PPR plays as Prescott's main safety valves.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Marvin Jones | 11 | 21 | 10.5 |
Golden Tate | 9 | 16 | 8 |
Eric Ebron | 7 | 12 | 6 |
Anquan Boldin | 7 | 10 | 5 |
Theo Riddick | 5 | 10 | 5 |
Jones has turned into the PPR machine some had predicted. Continue to roll him out with confidence. Tate caught just two of nine Week 2 targets and amassed just 13 yards on those catches. Ebron had a score called back due to a penalty but continues to look like a breakout TE option.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jordy Nelson | 11 | 20 | 10 |
Randall Cobb | 7 | 15 | 7.5 |
Davante Adams | 7 | 14 | 7 |
Jared Cook | 6 | 8 | 4 |
Richard Rodgers | 2 | 5 | 2.5 |
Nelson has scored in each of the first two weeks and posted 73 yards against Minnesota. So far so good for those that spent an early-round pick on him. Adams has seen a healthy amount of targets but has only caught six balls thus far.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Tavon Austin | 9 | 21 | 10.5 |
Kenny Britt | 10 | 16 | 8 |
Lance Kendricks | 6 | 9 | 4.5 |
Brian Quick | 1 | 6 | 3 |
Todd Gurley | 1 | 4 | 2 |
The Rams posted a whopping nine points and a victory over the Seahawks in Week 2. Don't be enticed by their offensive explosion; no receiver or tight end is worth a look.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Stefon Diggs | 11 | 20 | 10 |
Kyle Rudolph | 8 | 16 | 8 |
Charles Johnson | 2 | 8 | 4 |
Adrian Peterson | 3 | 5 | 2.5 |
Back-to-back 100-yard games have those who selected Diggs miles ahead of the curve right now. He has the perfect mixture of opportunity and talent to remain a legitimate receiving option each and every week.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Brandin Cooks | 9 | 18 | 9 |
Willie Snead | 8 | 17 | 8.5 |
Coby Fleener | 9 | 12 | 6 |
Michael Thomas | 5 | 11 | 5.5 |
Mark Ingram | 4 | 6 | 3 |
Snead is looking like the prohibitive WR2 in New Orleans. He should be in for another solid game against Atlanta in Week 3. Fleener and Ingram have both disappointed through the first two weeks, with Ingram seeing just 21 attempts and six targets.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Odell Beckham Jr. | 11 | 19 | 8.5 |
Victor Cruz | 8 | 12 | 6 |
Sterling Shepard | 8 | 12 | 6 |
Shane Vereen | 3 | 8 | 4 |
Larry Donnell | 5 | 7 | 3.5 |
Shepard has fit nicely into the New York offense, catching 11 of 12 targets. He's a solid cash game option in DFS and a reliable WR3 in season-long formats. Aside from he and Beckham, there is little fantasy appeal.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jordan Matthews | 9 | 23 | 11.5 |
Nelson Agholor | 7 | 12 | 6 |
Zach Ertz | 0 | 7 | 7 |
Darren Sproles | 2 | 7 | 3.5 |
Dorial Green-Beckham | 4 | 6 | 3 |
Matthews has dominated the Philly passing game so far and will likely do so for the rest of the year. He will be especially valuable until Ertz's return, which may come sooner rather than later. Agholor and Green-Beckham are DFS fliers at best.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jeremy Kerley | 6 | 17 | 8.5 |
Torrey Smith | 10 | 16 | 8 |
Quinton Patton | 6 | 11 | 5.5 |
Garrett Celek | 2 | 6 | 3 |
Carlos Hyde | 3 | 6 | 3 |
Gabbert connected with nine different receivers on Sunday as the Niners attempted to keep up with the Panthers. Smith's 10 targets are somewhat reassuring to those holding onto to hope he can provide some value as the one and only established option in San Francisco.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Doug Baldwin | 6 | 17 | 8.5 |
Jermaine Kearse | 6 | 13 | 6.5 |
Tyler Lockett | 4 | 12 | 6 |
Christine Michael | 4 | 8 | 4 |
Jimmy Graham | 4 | 5 | 2.5 |
No Seattle receiver had more than four catches and six of them saw at least four targets. That dispersion may be nice from a coach's perspective, but it does little from a fantasy angle. A Week 3 matchup against San Francisco should produce better results.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Mike Evans | 17 | 24 | 12 |
Vincent Jackson | 9 | 16 | 8 |
Cameron Brate | 4 | 8 | 4 |
Charles Sims | 5 | 8 | 4 |
Doug Martin | 0 | 5 | 2.5 |
Evans has scored in both weeks but has yet to top 100 yards. His next three matchups against L.A., Denver, and Carolina could keep that streak alive until Week 7 once Evans returns from his Week 6 bye. Austin Seferian-Jenkins has seen just three targets through the first two weeks.
NAME | LAST WEEK | TOTAL | AVG |
---|---|---|---|
Jordan Reed | 7 | 18 | 9 |
Jamison Crowder | 8 | 18 | 9 |
DeSean Jackson | 5 | 15 | 7.5 |
Pierre Garcon | 7 | 13 | 6.5 |
Chris Thompson | 4 | 6 | 3 |
Reed has provided solid yardage totals but has yet to find the end zone. Jackson remains a boom-or-bust type of player as he had just three catches for 40 yards in Week 2.
