Here are the fantasy repercussions of Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler missing the next two to three weeks with a sprained thumb:

Cutler had what many considered to be the best year of his career in 2015 under then-offensive coordinator Adam Gase. His 64.4 percent completion rate was the second-highest of his career, his 3,659 passing yards his fourth-highest total, he threw more than 20 TD passes for the fifth time, and his 11 interceptions were the fewest he had thrown in a season of at least 15 games.
Still, with Gase having taken the head coaching job with the Miami Dolphins, Cutler came into 2016 as a streaming candidate in standard leagues and a fringe option in two-QB leagues.
Cutler threw an interception in each of the first two games this season, with a lone score coming in Week 1. He had totaled 373 yards on 46 passing attempts. WR Alshon Jeffery had been the only member of the Bears' offense worth starting without hesitation.

What can you get from Brian Hoyer?
Hoyer has started 26 games during his NFL career. Half of those total starts came with the Cleveland Browns in 2014, when he completed just 55.3 percent of his pass attempts and totaled 3,326 yards with 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Another nine came with the Houston Texans last season. Hoyer upped his completion percentage to 60.7, throwing for 2,606 yards with 19 touchdowns and seven picks. Having an option like WR DeAndre Hopkins helped him greatly last season. Jeffery fits the same mold of an elite WR1.
Current Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown started five games and played in eight for the Bears in 2013, while replacing an injured Cutler. McCown completed 66.5 percent of his passes, totaled 1,829 yards and threw 13 touchdowns to one interception.
Hoyer's career completion percentage is slightly lower than McCown's, and significant regression should be expected from McCown's near-immaculate touchdown to interception ratio from his breakout season.
The Bears do have weapons in their passing game in Jeffery, TE Zach Miller, and WRs Kevin White and Eddie Royal. With a guaranteed 2-3 starts and a potential opportunity to retain the starting job moving forward, Hoyer must be owned in two-QB formats, and is a streaming candidate in standard leagues. He can stay on waivers for Week 3, while visiting the Dallas Cowboys.

The supporting cast
With another lackluster option at quarterback, Jeffery is the only appealing option in Chicago. White has just seven receptions on 13 targets for 70 yards through two weeks. Big things were expected from him in the pass-heavy Bears offense in his first year of NFL play, but he didn't deliver with Cutler and is unlikely to with Hoyer.
Hoyer, along with three other quarterbacks in 2015, produced just one receiver topping 700 yards last season. While Hopkins was the clear target hog in the offense all along, WR Nate Washington ranked second on the team with 658 receiving yards and four touchdowns. TEs Ryan Griffin, C.J. Fiedorowicz and Garrett Graham totaled just four touchdowns.
Expect an even larger target share for Jeffery, while re-draft owners should be trying to get whatever they can for White via trade.
