Value Rankings

Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Jose Bautista (TOR) | at BOS | 9 |
Manuel Margot (SD) | at ARI | 9 |
Hunter Renfroe (SD) | at ARI | 9 |
Bautista has had a down season, but he has come up huge down the stretch for the Blue Jays, posting a .998 OPS in his last 16 games. He has launched 23 home runs in 234 career at-bats at Fenway Park and is 15-for-36 with three home runs in his career against Rick Porcello. Despite all of this, the two-time home run champ isn't priced among the elite outfielders.
Margot and Renfroe are two major reasons why the future seems bright in San Diego. The speedy Margot has hit .333 with two steals in six games, while the powerful Renfroe has hit .381 with four home runs (including one that landed on top of the Western Metal Supply Company building at Petco Park) and 12 RBIs in seven games. Both are affordable.

Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Adam Jones (BAL) | at NYY | 7 |
Willson Contreras (CHC) | at CIN | 7 |
Hyun Soo Kim (BAL) | at NYY | 6 |
Jones has scuffled lately, but he is 10-for-29 lifetime against Michael Pineda. His leadoff status provides a high floor, but his home run power presents upside. Take a flier on him with a lowered salary.
Jones' teammate, Kim, has two home runs and four RBIs in his last three at-bats. You can bet he'll be in the lineup against a right-hander in a must-win game.

Nothing to See Here
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Kole Calhoun (LAA) | vs. HOU | 3 |
Gerardo Parra (COL) | vs. MIL | 3 |
Michael Saunders (TOR) | at BOS | 2 |
Saunders has hit just .182/.280/.365 since the midsummer classic. He is just 1-for-16 lifetime against Porcello and needs to be left unowned.
