Rich Hill was desperate.
The Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander has been dealing with a blister on his throwing hand all season, dating back to his time with the Oakland Athletics.
Blisters can develop on a pitcher's fingers due to certain grips they have on the ball. At one point this season, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts pulled Hill from a perfect game because the training staff saw a few spots on his hand that could develop into blisters.
Hill told reporters Friday that he tried just about everything to fix the issue.
Hill will get the ball in Game 2 of the NLDS against the Washington Nationals.
