Broner cited for battery after allegedly choking waitress in Las Vegas
And the hits just keep on coming for Adrien Broner.
The boxer was cited for misdemeanor battery after allegedly choking a waitress at Drai's nightclub in Las Vegas on Sunday. According to TMZ Sports, the server complained Broner had put his hands around her neck and threatened to knock her out. Police were called around 3:30 a.m., after which a witness corroborated the accuser's complaint.
Broner, who maintained his innocence, was cited and told to appear in court at a later date.
The accuser did not require medical attention.
The Cincinnati native has earned a substantial amount of ink this year, but not for his exploits in the ring. Broner had another encounter with the law earlier this year after allegedly assaulting a man in a bowling alley. The charges were ultimately dropped.
Broner most recently put the web on suicide watch last week with a string of Instagram posts in which he threatened to take his own life. Both his loved ones and Cincinnati police managed to reach him and ascertain his safety. Broner later claimed his account was hacked.
