Mark Trumbo was one 2016's biggest fantasy draft bargains, leading the major leagues with a remarkable 47 home runs. He has shown flashes of power in the past, hitting between 29 and 34 home runs in three straight seasons with the Angels from 2011 through 2013, but became a fantasy disappointment in subsequent seasons.

His batting average won't help you, but it also won't kill you or force you to make concessions elsewhere to balance it out (like with Orioles teammate Chris Davis). From his poor showing with Seattle, it's clear he needs to go to the right ballpark.

Option 1: Baltimore Orioles

This makes the most sense. After his one season in Baltimore, change might not do him or fantasy owners good. If he signs elsewhere, it may be the difference between holding onto him or tossing him back in keeper leagues. Re-signing means his path to big offensive returns at least has reality to back him up (one-season sample isn't much, of course).

Trumbo doesn't have to hit 47 home runs again, either, because there is enough skepticism about his potential to suppress his draft day status. A return to Baltimore should inch him up draft boards. After the All-Star break, though, he hit a meager .214, so his average is the biggest mystery.

Option 2: Texas Rangers

Prince Fielder's retirement and the impending departure of Ian Desmond opens up a hole in the Texas lineup for Trumbo. He could fall in at 1B - keeping his OF eligibility - and DH. The lineup is powerful already, but not so much that Trumbo would drop down far enough to reduce his value.

While Globe Life Park in Arlington is almost as homer-happy as Camden Yards, the other AL West stadiums are less home run-prone than his AL East opponents. Still, that wouldn't be enough to hold him down, just keeps his perceived value lower heading into drafts.

Wild Card: Cleveland Indians

Mike Napoli just left town, so why not replace him with a younger version? This might be outside Cleveland's price range, but Trumbo can play the outfield (marginally) and swing a big bat at DH. This is a lineup built more on slap happy hitters with only slight power from top to bottom. Trumbo would easily move into the cleanup role and be worth drafting in all formats because of it.
