Here are theScore's sample Squad Up lineups for Friday, Jan. 6:
50-50 Lineup
POS | NAME | OPPONENT | FPPG | SALARY |
---|---|---|---|---|
C | Auston Matthews (TOR) | at NJ | 21.8 | 61K |
LW | Johnny Gaudreau (CGY) | at VAN | 17.1 | 65K |
RW | Connor Brown (TOR) | at NJ | 11.8 | 25K |
D | Roman Josi (NAS) | at FLA | 15.3 | 50K |
G | Thomas Greiss (NYI) | at COL | 25.6 | 81K |
Matthews and Brown continue to come at immensely discounted salaries, despite both players being in the midst of extended hot streaks. They have the ice time and shot counts indicative of prolonged success. Josi is coming off a slight down game, but the Predators were able to offer him some rest in a lopsided victory. His high usage will return. Greiss is the safest goalie of the night.
Tournament Lineup
POS | NAME | OPPONENT | FPPG | SALARY |
---|---|---|---|---|
C | John Tavares (NYI) | at COL | 16.2 | 69K |
LW | Anders Lee (NYI) | at COL | 15.8 | 43K |
RW | Kyle Palmieri (NJ) | vs. TOR | 15.1 | 63K |
D | T.J. Brodie (CGY) | at VAN | 10.0 | 25K |
G | Scott Darling (CHI) | vs. CAR | 24.5 | 100K |
Tavares and Lee are the top combo of the day with a very plush matchup against the tumultuous Avalanche. Palmieri will benefit from playing at the Maple Leafs' fast, yet mistake-prone pace. Brodie has a good chance of factoring in offensively with power-play time against the Canucks.
