Durant: Playing Thunder will never be a normal game for me
Having spent the previous eight seasons of his career in Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant knows that Wednesday night's contest against the Thunder will be more than just a regular-season game.
"It's never going to be a regular game for me," Durant told ESPN's Chris Haynes. "I'm just going to play. There's nothing serious. We got the first one out the way, and we're just going to play the next game."
While he ultimately chose to leave Oklahoma City last summer, the lanky forward hasn't forgotten all the good times he had with the franchise.
"I'm sure it will (be emotional)," Durant said. "It's people I've been with for so long and to see them again, yeah, they'll be some emotions. But I've still got a job to do."
Although there's certainly a possibility of more trash talk from his former teammates, Durant says he'll only be concentrating on winning when he steps on the court.
"I don't know. I'm up for anything," Durant said. "I just play, man. I don't start nothing. I just play my game. I try to focus on me, on how I'm going to approach the game and focus on how we're going to do it as a team. All that other stuff doesn't matter to me."
"I'm excited," he added.
