Garrett's athleticism draws raves

Myles Garrett has been talked up by many as the best player in the 2017 draft - including himself. The Texas A&M edge rusher told reporters Saturday that his expectations for himself are just as high as anyone else's. During the first drill of the day on Sunday, Garrett lived up to his billing by running an official time of 4.64 seconds in the 40-yard dash, one of the best marks among defensive linemen.

Garrett followed up his 40 with an even more impressive performance in the vertical jump.

While Michigan's Jabrill Peppers is set to work out with the linebackers on Sunday, he says he sees himself as a safety, but is willing to do whatever coaches ask of him.

Hooker ahead of schedule in recovery from surgery

Malik Hooker told reporters that he's ahead of schedule in his recovery from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.
Hooker impressed earlier at the combine with his massive hands and wing span drawing rave reviews from scouts in attendance.

Reddick among stars of the week

If Haason Reddick wasn't already getting consideration as a first-round prospect, he almost certainly is now. The Temple product, who is likely set for a transition from the edge to an off-ball linebacker role at the next level, was a standout across the board Sunday.

Barnett fails to properly shake off virus

Tennessee's Derek Barnett is hoping to be the second edge rusher off the board after Garrett, but he struggled to overcome an illness during Sunday's workouts.
He posted OK numbers in the 40-yard dash and broad and vertical jumps, and is now under pressure to perform well at his Pro Day later this month.

Watt wants to emulate brothers, starts combine strongly
