Report: Clippers hope to ink Paul, Griffin to max contracts

A pair of Los Angeles Clippers could be in for big raises this summer.

With the Clippers' 2016-17 campaign officially over, Los Angeles has shifted its focus toward the upcoming offseason, where it hopes to re-sign Chris Paul and Blake Griffin to max-level contracts should they opt out of their current deals, Broderick Turner of the L.A. Times reports.

Reports surfaced last week that the Clippers were committed to keeping Griffin long term, while Los Angeles reportedly showed interest in inking Paul to a max deal earlier this season.

Paul could sign a contract worth approximately $205 million over five seasons, while Griffin could land a five-year, $175-million deal.

Should both earn max deals, J.J. Redick could be forced to find a new home when free agency opens, as NBA officials reportedly expect the 32-year-old to sign elsewhere in order to land a larger contract.

Paul refused to comment on his future following Sunday's first-round exit, saying he hasn't had time to consider free agency.
