Report: Knicks heard trade offers for Porzingis after missed team meeting

Teams across the NBA are ready to capitalize on the unhappy New York Knicks.

The Knicks received several trade calls in regards to star center Kristaps Porzingis after he skipped exit meetings with beleaguered team president Phil Jackson, sources told ESPN's Ian Begley.

It's unclear if any offers caught the Knicks' fancy. Begley passes along that many in the Knicks organization see Porzingis as a franchise cornerstone.

Porzingis declined comment on why he missed team meetings, but reports suggested the Latvian sophomore was frustrated by the team dysfunction that engulfed New York for most of the season.

He did say that he would like to remain with the Knicks for his whole career so long as they can find a way to win. However, the Knicks and Porzingis have still yet to speak this offseason.

Porzingis holds averages of 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks over his first two seasons in the NBA. The 7-foot-3 center is the rare stretch-five that can consistently hit threes while also providing reliable rim protection.
