Report: Bayern Munich prepared to offer €65M for Arsenal's Sanchez
Bayern Munich reportedly sees Alexis Sanchez in its future.
According to The Telegraph's Sam Wallace and Jason Burt, Bayern is believed to be prepared to offer €65 million (£55 million) for Sanchez, who is stalling on signing a new contract at Arsenal. The German club is apparently a longtime admirer of the Chilean phenom, and is increasingly confident of signing him in spite of major competition.
Wallace and Burt count Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Juventus as the other clubs that are interested in signing Sanchez, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2014 for a reported fee of around €35.4 million (£30 million).
He played in both legs as Bayern humiliated Arsenal with a 10-2 victory on aggregate in the Champions League's Round of 16, and scored one of the Gunners' goals, finding the back of the net in the first leg.
In April, Wenger said he'll make Sanchez stay at Arsenal if a new contract isn't signed, declaring: "If he doesn't sign a new deal, will I make him stay? Yes. Would I rather keep him than sell him to a Premier League rival? Yes. I don't think you would sell him to any Premier League club, that is for sure. Why not? The question is more why would you sell him to another Premier League club? You want to be as strong as you can be and not strengthen the other teams."
Talks over Sanchez's contract have allegedly been put on hold until the end of the season.
