The World Boxing Council has suspended Leon Lawson Jr. for sucker punching Jose Uzcategui moments after his nephew Andre Dirrell was awarded a victory by disqualification in Oxon Hill, Md., on Saturday, ESPN's Dan Rafael reports.

Lawson, who was working Dirrell's corner, is now indefinitely prohibited from taking part in any boxing match sanctioned by the WBC "in any form or manner."

Lawson's actions brought a surreal end to his nephew's victory on the undercard of a night headlined by Gary Russell Jr. and Oscar Escandon, as Dirrell was rocked by Uzcategui after the eighth-round bell was rung and named the winner and new interim super middleweight champion via DQ after the attending physician ruled he was unfit to continue. The cornerman wasn't satisfied with the justice that was served, however, storming across the ring to crack Uzcategui square on the chin before he and the boxer were separated.

He managed to flee the scene and was still wanted by the authorities on Monday, Rafael reports.
