Mariota doesn't know how Nike swoosh got on his Reebok Predators jersey

Several members of the Tennessee Titans have attended games during the Nashville Predators' run to the Stanley Cup Final, star quarterback Marcus Mariota among them.

Curiously, when Mariota attended, he did so with a logo on his bright yellow Predators jersey that isn't supposed to be there:

The NHL has a jersey partnership with Reebok, not Nike. The Reebok logo appears on the sleeve and rear shoulder area of every NHL jersey.

Though Mariota has an endorsement deal with Nike, it would seem unusual if the deal requires him to slap a Nike logo onto sports apparel branded with other companies' logos in public - that's a bit like driving a Honda with a Ford logo welded onto the hood.

The quarterback told reporters Tuesday that he doesn't know how the swoosh logo ended up on his jersey, according to Jason Wolf of The Tennessean.

Mariota added that it's a "fun thing."

A fun thing, sure. But also a very weird thing. And maybe a mystery we won't see solved.
