Report: LeBron, Durant recorded secret hip hop track together in 2011
While they're currently going to war against each other on the hardwood in the 2017 NBA Finals, there was a time not too long ago when LeBron James and Kevin Durant were making sweet music together.
No, seriously ... this really happened, as ESPN's Chris Haynes reports both James and Durant actually recorded a song together during the 2011 lockout.
Durant was visiting James in Akron, Ohio for workouts, and like the music fanatics they are, the two reportedly wrote lyrics during breaks and entered a studio booth to record a track.
The name and theme of the song are both currently unknown, although one source who has heard it indicated to Haynes that Durant rapped over the first verse, James did the second, then KD returned to finish it off.
The Golden State Warriors star is also believed to have provided the instrumentals.
"I heard the track years ago during post-production for 'Thunderstruck,’" said agent Eric Goodwin, a former representative of the two players, as well as an executive producer for the aforementioned movie. "It was very good. I suggested submitting it to Warner Brothers for the movie soundtrack, but KD wanted to keep it private."
James and Durant had a good laugh when approached about the subject, confirming there is indeed a song out there, although there are no plans to ever release it to the public.
