Report: Ball has 'solid' 2nd workout with Lakers

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

After underwhelming them the first time out, Lonzo Ball put forth a "solid" second workout with the Los Angles Lakers on Friday, a source told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Ball - and his father LaVar - have been angling for the Lakers to draft him with the No. 2 pick, but the team reportedly came away worried about his conditioning after his first workout, and has seemed more enthusiastic about the possibility of trading up to No. 1 to draft Markelle Fultz.

Lonzo used the second visit as an opportunity to get some face-to-face time with Lakers president Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka, and show them his full conditioning routine. Johnson and Pelinka were reportedly the only two Lakers representatives present. LaVar was also in attendance for Friday's workout, after not being invited to the first.

Lonzo has yet to speak to or work out for any other team, but after the Lakers' lukewarm reaction to his physical showcase, he has considered talking to teams picking below them in the lottery.

The NBA draft will be held in Brooklyn on June 22.
