Report: Lakers offered 2 first-rounders plus Clarkson or Randle for George
It doesn't appear to have taken long for the Los Angeles Lakers to put the No. 27 draft pick back on the market.
After reportedly receiving the pick and center Brook Lopez from the Brooklyn Nets for a package including D'Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov, the Lakers are said to be using their assets to make a push to acquire Indiana Pacers forward Paul George.
One package the Lakers offered the Pacers for George was the Nos. 27 and 28 picks in the upcoming NBA draft, plus one of either guard Jordan Clarkson or big man Julius Randle, according to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
The four-time All-Star has been linked to the Lakers for months, expressing his desire to play for his hometown team when he hits unrestricted free agency at the end of the 2017-18 season, and reportedly putting pressure on Indiana to move him, lest they lose him for nothing.
The Lakers have been steadfast in refusing to include forward Brandon Ingram, the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, in any deal for George.
