Chelsea outcast Bertrand Traore joins Lyon for €10M
Exciting winger Bertrand Traore finally secured a permanent move away from Chelsea.
Following a pair of loan spells in the Dutch Eredivisie - most recently at Ajax - the 21-year-old made the switch to French side Lyon on a permanent deal worth €10 million, the club announced Monday.
Traore put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Les Gones.
Chelsea is also owed 15 percent of any future sale.
Making just 10 first-team appearances for the Blues, Traore was one of several players stuck in the west Londoners' vast loan network. He spent a year-and-a-half at Vitesse before reuniting with his parent club for the 2015-16 campaign.
Last season's spell at Ajax, however, provided the push his career needed. The Burkina Faso native earned weekly starts with the Amsterdam outfit, scoring 13 goals across all competitions.
With in-demand poacher Alexandre Lacazette set to leave Lyon, manager Bruno Genesio now has another option in Traore. Although not as prolific, the Auxerre product has fantastic dribbling ability and the confidence to take on defenders.
Lyon felt Traore's wrath in last month's Europa League semi-final first leg, as the African footballer scored twice and assisted once.
