Light Heavyweight Bout: Trevin Giles def. James Bochnovic via 2nd-round KO

Giles' UFC debut was as emphatic as it was brutal.

"The Problem" rode his wrestling and nasty ground-and-pound to pick up a KO at James Bochnovic's expense at the 2:54 mark of Round 2 in the evening's opening tilt. After a dominant first round, Giles took his foe down at will in the next stanza, flattened him out from back control and rained hellfire on his head for the stoppage.

The 24-year-old Texan remained undefeated in 10 professional contests with his ninth win to come inside the distance, one he accrued on just one week's notice.

Giles had to bring the action to the mat with a double-leg takedown in short order, as Bochnovic wasted little time pressing forward and letting his legs fly. It was all Giles as soon as the fighters hit the canvas, though, with Bochnovic appearing content to remain active from guard until Giles began imposing his will from side control.

After stifling his fellow newcomer's attempts to return to his feet with a belly-to-back suplex, Giles closed out Round 1 with some nasty ground-and-pound. The prospect produced more of the same in the following frame, as a visibly fatigued Bochnovic promptly faded once Giles had seized his back to inflict more punishment on his dome.

Bochnovic sees an eight-fight win streak snapped in his first trip beyond the first round. His professional record now sits at 8-2.

Featherweight Bout: Cody Stamann def. Terrion Ware via unanimous decision

Fighting on one week's notice, Stamann and Ware made the most of their UFC debuts.

It was Stamann who earned the unanimous nod, though both men could hold their heads high after three rounds of competitive action.

The first two frames of the fight told a classic striker vs. grappler story. Ware was more comfortable on the feet and, when he found some space, repeatedly caught Stamann with long punches and short combinations. But he couldn't pull away as Stamann was able to take him down at will.

From top position, Stamann controlled Ware while doing enough damage to prevent a stand-up and keep Ware from attempting any submissions. With the fight still up in the air in Round 3, Stamann scored another takedown to cruise to the decision win.

Stamann improves to 14-1 with his seventh straight professional win, while Ware sees a four-fight win streak snapped.
