D-Backs' Ray carted off field after taking line drive to head
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray was hit in the head by a 108-mph line drive off the bat of St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Luke Voit in the second inning Friday.

Ray immediately fell to the ground clutching his head after the impact. After being tended to by trainers, the 25-year-old sat up and held a towel to his head as a medical cart carried him off the field.
Arizona later announced Ray was sent to the hospital for further testing, though he remained alert throughout the ordeal.

After the incident, Voit walked over to Ray to make sure the Diamondbacks pitcher was alright.
Ray was replaced on the mound by T.J. McFarland.
