Report: Carmelo will only accept trade to Rockets; not to Cavs
It's apparently the Houston Rockets or bust for All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony.
The 33-year-old is no longer willing to waive the no-trade clause in his contract for a move to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and will only do so for a trade to the Rockets, sources told the New York Post's Marc Berman.
Previous reports also indicated Anthony was "focused on" becoming a member of the Rockets, with the turmoil surrounding the Cavaliers - including Kyrie Irving's trade demand and the possible departure of LeBron James next summer - turning him off.
Irving had listed the Big Apple as a preferred destination in a potential deal, while a swap involving Anthony and pieces to the Cavs seemingly made sense for both parties. With Cleveland now in disarray, however, it doesn't appear to be a viable destination, barring some drastic changes.

Anthony has also indicated to the Knicks' new power tandem of general manager Scott Perry and president Steve Mills that he wants out after seven seasons. There were talks of bringing in two more teams to facilitate a move to Houston, but those quickly crumbled.
Still, despite his past issues in New York with current Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni, Anthony reportedly remains dead set on joining Houston's roster to play alongside fellow All-Stars James Harden and Chris Paul.
