Oladipo named NBA Africa Game MVP as Team World tops Team Africa
His team failed to win, but Victor Oladipo still managed to claim some hardware Saturday.
The Indiana Pacers and Team Africa guard earned MVP honors at the 2017 NBA Africa Game in Johannesburg after finishing the contest with 28 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
The four-year veteran made his presence felt right from tip-off, opening the scoring with a pretty reverse lay up just 30 seconds into the game.
Oladipo's speed and explosiveness were on display throughout the contest, as the former No. 2 overall pick had little difficulty shedding the defense for easy buckets.
The 25-year-old did his best to make things interesting late in the fourth, hitting a clutch three with under two minutes remaining to cut Team World's lead to a single point.
All in all, Oladipo's dominant performance wasn't enough to lead Team Africa to victory, as Team World defeated the home side 108-97.
