Madden 18 Ratings Analysis: Wide Receivers
theScore's Jack Browne and Mitch Sanderson take a deep dive into the ratings from the newly released Madden 18 video game.
QB | RB | WR | TE | OL | K/P
DL | LB | DB | Rookie | Team
Wide Receiver | Team | Rating |
---|---|---|
Julio Jones | Falcons | 98 |
Antonio Brown | Steelers | 97 |
A.J. Green | Bengals | 94 |
Odell Beckham Jr. | Giants | 93 |
Dez Bryant | Cowboys | 91 |
DeAndre Hopkins | Texans | 91 |
Jordy Nelson | Packers | 91 |
Mike Evans | Buccaneers | 90 |
Larry Fitzgerald | Cardinals | 90 |
Keenan Allen | Chargers | 89 |
Doug Baldwin | Seahawks | 89 |
Julian Edelman | Patriots | 89 |
Emmanuel Sanders | Broncos | 89 |
T.Y. Hilton | Colts | 88 |
Jarvis Landry | Dolphins | 88 |
Few positions in the NFL have as much depth of talent as wide receiver, and even fewer can match the level of elite talent. Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, A.J. Green, and Odell Beckham all have cases for being the best pass-catcher in the game (real and video), and the latter two's ratings arguably should be closer to Jones' 98 and Brown's 97.
Mike Evans proved himself worthy of being mentioned alongside the elite four receivers, and he should make the leap up over Dez Bryant and Co. as the season goes on. Larry Fitzgerald has been one of the most fun Madden players over the past decade, and while he's still producing, his 90 rating feels off - especially over the likes of Doug Baldwin.
2016 receiving yards leader T.Y. Hilton should feel slightly aggrieved about being tied for 14th, though his 88 rating is roughly right and may take a further hit with Andrew Luck seemingly questionable to be ready for Week 1.
