Report: John Cena could star opposite The Rock in upcoming 'Shazam!' film

WWE legends John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may be squaring off on the silver screen.

Cena is one of two tentative frontrunners (actor Joshua Sasse being the other) to play the Shazam version of Billy Batson in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie "Shazam!", which Johnson is producing, according to Braxter Timberlake of the Hashtag Show. The role was initially offered to Johnson, who turned it down to play Black Adam instead.

Timberlake notes that it's unlikely the Black Adam character will serve as the primary antagonist in this particular film, but since Johnson typically only produces projects he's involved in, there could be future installments in the franchise.

Cena is also reportedly being eyed for the lead role in a "Knight Rider" reboot.
