The Derek Jeter era in Miami officially became real Tuesday morning when the Marlins tweeted out a photo of the New York Yankees legend enjoying his new office.
A group including Jeter and new controlling owner Bruce Sherman closed on its purchase of the Marlins on Monday. The club was sold to the group for $1.2 billion from previous owner Jeffrey Loria, the deal having been approved by major-league owners last week.
Jeter and Sherman are expected to address the public for the first time Tuesday at a press conference.
