Gordon Hayward carted off after suffering gruesome leg injury
Boston Celtics small forward Gordon Hayward suffered a gruesome left leg injury in the season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hayward skied for a contested alley-oop and landed extremely awkwardly as his leg twisted beneath him. The game was stopped for a few minutes while Hayward was stretchered out with his left leg in a cast.
The Celtics formed a huddle on the sidelines as few could bare to watch Hayward laying crumpled beneath the basket. Several members of the Cavaliers followed suit.

Hayward was making his Celtics debut after changing locales from Utah to Boston this summer. He inked a four-year maximum contract to form what eventually became a Big Three with Kyrie Irving and Al Horford.
