DeMarcus Cousins of the New Orleans Pelicans was fined $25,000 by the NBA for directing inappropriate language toward a fan during the fourth quarter of the Pelicans’ 103-91 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
The league announced the fine Saturday.
This isn't the first time Cousins has received such a fine. He was dinged $50,000 for two separate incidents last March in which he shouted at opposing fans.
Cousins was named winner of the NBA Cares Offseason Community Assist Award on Friday.
Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics can probably expect a similar fine to Cousins' after admitting he swore at a fan in Friday's win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
