Usain Bolt: I can 'easily' make Jamaica's national soccer team

Now that he's retired from sprinting, Usain Bolt is giving serious thought to pursuing a soccer career.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist told reporters at Sunday's U.S. Grand Prix that he believes he's good enough to land a spot on Jamaica's national soccer team, which is ranked No. 59 in the world.

"I think I can make the Jamaica team easily," Bolt said, according to Alan Baldwin of Reuters. "I wouldn't say they are that good at this point."

Bolt understands there may be some skepticism, but said it's been a dream of his for a long time.

"If I feel I can't do it, I'm going to say 'you know what, forget this.' I'm not trying to embarrass myself. But if I go out there and feel I can do this then I will give it a try. It's a dream and another chapter of my life," he said.

"If you have a dream that you always wanted to do, why not try and see where it will go."
