Roddy Piper details near fatal attack by fan in new documentary
A new documentary on "Rowdy" Roddy Piper will include a detailed account from the late WWE Hall of Famer about how he was nearly killed by a fan in the 1980s.
TMZ Sports obtained a clip from the documentary, titled "Roddy Piper: In His Own Words," in which Piper recalls being stabbed by a man wielding a buck knife outside an arena in Raleigh, N.C.
"First rule of a knife fight - don't take your eyes off the knife," Piper says in the clip, which was filmed in 2006. "Broke that rule. I stopped, boom, he got me an inch from the heart."
Piper passed away in 2015 at the age of 61 after suffering cardiac arrest.
A portion of proceeds from the documentary, produced by Nine Legends Film, will be donated to the Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.
