Another Springer dinger.
In the final game of the World Series, George Springer tied history by hitting his fifth home run of the Fall Classic. The only other players to have accomplished the feat are Reggie Jackson in 1977 and Chase Utley in 2009.
Furthermore, the Houston Astros outfielder actually set the record for extra-base hits - eight - and total bases - 29 - in World Series history.
It's the sixth home run of the entire postseason for the leadoff hitter, which ties Lenny Dykstra for most dingers by a No. 1 hitter during the playoffs.
If that isn't enough to nail down World Series MVP, Springer's four-game streak with a home run is the longest such streak.
