Garbrandt: Dillashaw showed 'everyone' on Team Alpha Male how to use PEDs
As is usually the case when Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw share a room, things got heated at Thursday's UFC 217 presser.
The pair of bantamweights and former training partners began trading barbs when the subject of performance-enhancing substances was broached, with Garbrandt claiming Dillashaw put his former Team Alpha Male cohorts onto the stuff.
"You showed everyone how to do it on Team Alpha Male," Garbrandt said, according to MMA Fighting's Marc Raimondi.
The jab came after longtime team member Chris Holdsworth alleged earlier this week that Dillashaw had been indulging in "special supplements" while training at the Sacramento-based camp, which the former champ sarcastically scoffed at on Thursday while questioning the convenient timing of the accusations.
"Yeah, I’m on everything," Dillashaw said. "They test me every day, so I’m on everything.
"It’s all happening at the perfect time, when it came out, the week of the fight. Like, c’mon man, this is all super predictable."
In addition to the finger-pointing he fielded at the presser, Dillashaw has also been repeatedly deemed responsible by both Holdsworth and Garbrandt for all but ending the former's career with a knee to the back of the head during sparring.
The beef between Dillashaw and Garbrandt and Co. dates back to his late-2015 departure from the team, with both parties offering differing accounts of the circumstances surrounding the rift. They'll get to settle it in the cage when Dillashaw challenges his former teammate for the bantamweight crown in the co-main event of UFC 217 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
