Trump in response to LaVar: 'I should have left them in jail'
Another day, another controversial tweet from President Donald Trump.
After LaVar Ball was dismissive of Trump's efforts in bringing the three UCLA players home from China, the President of the United States decided to respond to Ball's comments. Trump said in a tweet that he "should have left them in jail," referring to LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley, and Jalen Hill.
Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!

Trump spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping about releasing Ball and his teammates. After Trump questioned if the players would be thankful of his help, the three thanked him in a press conference discussing the matter.
LaVar dismissed Trump's help, stating "everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out." This led to the response from Trump on Twitter.
The players are still suspended indefinitely by head coach Steve Alford.
