Jeter has no plans to talk with disappointed Marlins players
Rebuilding a team from scratch comes with many pitfalls. As the Miami Marlins' new ownership group is discovering, one such pitfall is creating disgruntled players.
After the Marlins dealt away Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, and Dee Gordon this offseason to shed salary, the team's remaining stars were clearly left unhappy. Outfielder Christian Yelich expressed his frustration, while catcher J.T. Realmuto even requested a trade.
At a town hall meeting with Marlins fans and season-ticket holders this week, CEO Derek Jeter indicated he has no plans to talk with Yelich or Realmuto about their concerns, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Jeter added that he doesn't see that as part of his role with the club.

Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill has also said the team will initiate trade talks involving players if the front office deems it best for the organization.
