Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll took to Twitter on Sunday to refute a report he may retire at the end of the season:

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported that the 66-year-old could contemplate walking away from football if the Seahawks view 2018 to be a "rebuilding year" for the perennial Super Bowl contender, saying it would be Carroll's decision if he retired.

Carroll has led the most successful era in franchise history, earning a playoff berth in six of his seven seasons prior to this year and making two Super Bowl appearances, winning one in 2013.

However, the Seahawks sit at 9-6 entering Week 17 and need the Atlanta Falcons to lose for them to make the postseason.

Seattle could also be set for its biggest roster overhaul since Carroll took over, with franchise stalwarts like Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett possibly on their way out.
