Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin left Saturday's contest against the Anaheim Ducks after taking a slap shot to the ribs from teammate Karl Alzner.
Drouin left the ice following the play and was taken to hospital for X-rays as a precaution, with the Canadiens later announcing he would not return to the game after being limited to just 6:08 of ice time.
Following Montreal's 5-2 victory, head coach Claude Julien provided an update on Drouin's status:
Drouin has registered 26 points through 47 games this season.
