Report: Knicks acquire Mudiay from Nuggets in 3-team trade with Mavs
Emmanuel Mudiay is reportedly moving from the Mile High City to the Big Apple.
Three teams have agreed to a trade that will send Mudiay to the New York Knicks, Devin Harris to the Denver Nuggets, and Doug McDermott to the Dallas Mavericks, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
New York will reportedly provide Denver with a future second-round pick, and they'll apparently also swap second-rounders in this year's draft, with Denver getting New York's 2018 pick via the Los Angeles Clippers, and New York receiving Denver's pick via the Portland Trail Blazers.
Mudiay was taken seventh overall by the Nuggets in the 2014 NBA draft, and slowly lost his starter's role over three years with the organization. Poor shooting and a tendency to turn the rock over forced Denver to go with other options like Jamal Murray and Jameer Nelson, resulting in several DNP-CDs for Mudiay.
The 21-year-old point guard is averaging just 8.5 points and 2.9 assists on 40.1 percent shooting this season.
The Nuggets will be Harris' fifth team in 14 years, though he spent two separate stints with the Mavericks. Denver is in the midst of the Western Conference playoff race at 29-25, and was hopeful it could turn Mudiay into veteran help.
McDermott has competed in all 55 of the Knicks' games this season, shooting 38.7 percent from 3-point range while contributing 7.2 points in 21.3 minutes.
