Mets trade Matt Reynolds to Nationals

The New York Mets traded utility infielder Matt Reynolds to the Washington Nationals in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced Monday.

Reynolds had been designated for assignment earlier in the week to make room for Todd Frazier, who signed a two-year, $17-million deal with the Mets one week ago.

The 27-year-old Reynolds played a total of 115 games with the Mets over a two-year span. In 68 games last year, the utility man posted a .230/.326/.301 slash line while sharing time between third base, shortstop, second base, left field, first base, and a brief stint in right field.
