The St. Louis Blues have traded forward Paul Stastny to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a first-round pick in 2018, a fourth-rounder in 2020, and forward prospect Erik Foley, the team announced.
The Blues will retain 50 percent of Stastny's $7-million salary, according to Craig Custance of The Athletic.
Stastny is a pending unrestricted free agent, and waived his no-trade clause to accept the trade. The Jets sit 11 points ahead of the Blues in the Central Division race.
In 63 games this season, Stastny, 32, has 12 goals and 28 assists, while averaging over 18 minutes per night and winning 55.2 percent of faceoffs.
